Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Family classes

These classes are designed for every user at every stage. You can take all four or pick and choose which ones relate to your skill level.

Electrical Drafter Needed

Top Three Skills:

  • Revit 2013/2014
  • Run conduit in 3D space
  • Draw light fixtures

Job Description:                             

At least 2 years’ experience in Revit 2013/2014

Experience or knowledge of:

  • Build Families
  • 3D Geometry
  • Adding instance/type parameters
  • Draw light fixtures
  • Draw Devices
  • Draw Equipment
  • Creating Views
  • Managing link files
  • Run conduit in 3D space
  • Show blackouts/sleeves in structural concrete
  • Familiar with navigating in Navisworks
  • Ability to run Clash Detection
  • Find and fix clashes in Revit found in Naviswork
  • Work standard 8 hour days (8am-5pm)
  • Can act in a professional manner in front of clients.

Work Environment:                      

Working offsite under the engineering manager, casual work environment. Working with a growing engineering team. Ability to work under the direction of multiple Engineers is a must.


Minimum 2 year experience with Revit, MEP preferable experience with electrical design, Technical certificate preferred but not required. Ability to use nav works. Experience drawing electrical BIM.

Performance Expectations:                       

Typical day will be working with the engineering and system manager on buildings that are in the design or improvement phases. Drafter will be evaluated by the drafting quality and speed, minimal number of red lines to go back and correct. Best would be a drafter that understands some of the design aspect and can make decisions without having someone look over their shoulder, have experience with electrical fixture drafting. Must mold well with the team, small group that works closely, needs to be able to take input and make improvements when needed. Drafter should be able to come in first day and start drafting on project, can have some time to get familiar with project but should be able to come in and effectively make progress with ongoing work.


$18-$22 HR + 401k, health, vision, and dental. Pay will correlate directly to experience performing the aforementioned job duties. More experience would dictate a higher pay rate.

  • Perform computer based CAD Building Information Modeling (BIM) to include MEP 3D modeling, MEP coordination, shop drawings and detailing.


  • Perform computer based CAD Building Information Modeling (BIM) to include MEP 3D modeling, MEP coordination, shop drawings and detailing.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues in providing intelligent MEP Building Information Modeling services utilizing CAD, Revit MEP and Navisworks software.
  • Review 2D & 3D CAD files, organize and maintain all 3D Model files, conduct Clash Detection exercises utilizing  Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks  software.


  • Must possess a proficient working knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Autodesk Fabrication CADmep (formerly CADmech, CADduct and CADmep+) a plus but not required.
  • Autodesk or other CAD Training certifications a plus.
  • Hard working, motivated, professional demeanor and conduct. Commercial  construction knowledge is helpful.
  • Other computer experience a plus: AutoCAD, Excel, Sketchup, Solidworks, Inventor, Rhino, etc.
  • Must be a self-starter and be willing to take on multiple tasks and MEP coordination projects both large and small.
  • Communicate with Project Manager in person, via phone calls and email.
  • Clearly document all modeling work and report to supervising PM.
